What is Total Recall

In plain terms: Total Recall is a private memory for one person. It quietly collects the things you already deal with every day, your documents, notes, emails, texts, meetings, the people you know, your health, into one place, and then connects and reasons across all of it. Think of it as a second brain that never forgets and that actively helps you think.

It is yours alone. One brain belongs to one person. Your information is never mixed with anyone else’s.

  • Total Recall is the brain, your private memory and the synthesis that runs on top of it.
  • theo is the agent built on that brain, the intelligence you actually talk to.

The point isn’t only asking questions about your stuff. Because your brain holds all of your context, personal and professional, it does far more than answer. It connects the dots across every corner of your life: surfacing patterns, catching blind spots, pressure-testing your decisions, and briefing you every morning on what matters. That is synthesis, and it is the heart of the product.

Your brain is portable, so you are not locked to one place:

  • theo, your agent: at full strength in the theo app, and with you in messaging channels like Telegram, Slack, and WhatsApp.
  • Any AI you already use: plug your brain into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any MCP-capable tool.

Total Recall is built private-first. See Privacy & backups for how your information is stored and protected.
